About VW T2C / Brazilian Campervans
The Volkswagen T2c (Type 2 Continued) was introduced in 1997, continuing production of the legendary Bay Window long after German production had ended in 1979. Built at Volkswagen’s São Bernardo do Campo factory in Brazil, the T2c retained the unmistakable Bay Window silhouette while incorporating a number of modern mechanical updates.
Unlike the original air-cooled Bay Window, the T2c was initially fitted with air-cooled 1.6-litre engines, before switching to a 1.4-litre water-cooled Total Flex engine in 2006 to meet new Brazilian emissions regulations. The later models also featured a revised front grille, front-mounted radiator, updated dashboard, improved braking system and optional power steering.
Production ended in December 2013, with Volkswagen releasing a limited-edition Last Edition model to celebrate the end of more than 56 years of Kombi production in Brazil.
